My number 9 spot goes to Navy Pier. There are so many things to do at Navy Pier. Navy Pier is located downtown on Grand Ave. To get there is easy because a lot of trains and buses go down by there. Navy Pier has a lot of rides that you can get on. The ride that everybody mostly get on is the Ferris wheel. I have rode the Ferris wheel plenty of times. The two things that I love doing when I go to Navy Pier is the funhouse maze and going to the IMAX Theater. The funhouse maze is basically a maze with a lot of mirrors that you try to get through. I think that if you have been in the maze a few times already, you know the trick of how to get out quickly. The IMAX Theater is a theater that has the biggest movie screen and the sound in there is amazing. The food they have there is delicious. They have this restaurant called The Bubba Gump. The Bubba Gump is a shrimp restaurant. Garrett’s Popcorn is another place people love. Garrett’s has the best popcorn in Chicago. The popcorn is so flavorful and mouth- watering that if you ate it, it would be hard for you to make yourself stop. Navy Pier also provides boat rides and cruises. They have boat rides that take you around Lake Michigan and the Chicago River. Another attraction that they have is fireworks. They have fireworks every Saturday at 9pm till October 29, 2011. So make sure that Navy Pier is a place you go to when you visit Chicago.
I absolutely love going to the Navy Pier , it brings me back to last summer all excited for my brother who is in the United States Navy was coming home on military leave after being deployed for over a year. One of the days he was home we all decided to make a trip up to Chicago to go to the Navy Pier. The sun shining and beating down on my smiling face while we rode the HUGE fairs wheel giggling at looking out over the river, the view on top is just prefect! Giving me a day I’ll never forget, I can understand why you love where you grew up.
ReplyDeleteI love going to Chicago. The atmosphere is amazing and there is never a dull moment. I have never been to navy pier, but after reading your blog I am definitely going to check it out next time I go there. It sounds like a fun place. I love IMAX theatres. The movies they show are just incredible. The sound and quality of the movies just blows any other theatre out of the water. After I try the IMAX theatre I will make sure to eat at The Bubba Gump. What could be better than a restaurant named after Forest Gump?
ReplyDeleteI have only been to Chicago a few times my whole life and only one of those times I actually got to stay and do some stuff. I have been there for FBLA business trips, kind of boring, and to pick people up from the airport which is hectic. I’m from a super small town so Chicago feels a little out of my element. I did go there for a weekend with my boyfriend and we went to six flags and the Woodfield mall. I wish we could have gone to the navy pier though, it sounds fun and pretty. Maybe we will make that our next little trip we take.
ReplyDeleteOut of all the times I have been to Chicago I have never once been to the Navy Pier. Every time my mom and I are up there we are always there to go shopping! I always see the Navy Pier from a distance and ask my mom if we can go there but it was always a no, maybe next time. Well that never happened, so I gave up on asking. But after reading your blog I definitely will go to the Navy Pier, it sounds like so much fun and the food sounds amazing! I will be sure next time to convince my mom to take me there while we are there shopping.
